NEAX® 2000 IPS REQUIREMENTS
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The NEAX 2000 IPS is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Climate Control equipment (air conditioning/heating) may be required, depending on the installation environment.
Temperature and Humidity
The table below shows the environmental conditions required in the switching equipment room. If the NEAX 2000 IPS is operated in an environment that does not meet these specifications, the reliability of the equipment may be impaired. Improper operating conditions can cause the circuit boards to deteriorate. Therefore, to enable the equipment to operate for the extent of its expected lifetime, careful consideration must be given to the location of the equipment, and to proper ventilation and air conditioning. If no equipment is provided to remove the heat generated by the system, or if the temperature or humidity fluctuates repeatedly, the system's electronic components can be adversely affected. Such conditions will promote corrosion of metal parts and deterioration of insulation, thereby lowering the overall reliability of the system.

REGULATORY INFORMATION
Regulatory Requirements
The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has established rules that permit the NEAX 2000 IPS to be directly connected to the telephone network. The telephone company may make changes in its technical operations and procedures. If such changes affect the compatibility or use of the NEAX 2000 IPS, the telephone company is required to give adequate notice of the changes.
The NEAX 2000 IPS complies with the requirements in Part 15 of FCC Rules for a Class A computing device. Operation of this equipment in a residential area may cause unacceptable interference to radio and TV reception requiring the operator to take whatever steps are necessary to correct this interference.
In compliance with Federal Communication Commission - FCC Part 15 rules, the following statement is provided.
Hearing Aid Compatibility
The Dterm Series E terminals are hearing aid compatible. FCC rules prohibit the use of non-hearing aid compatible telephones.
NEC single-line telephone sets used in conjunction with the NEAX 2000 IPS are hearing aid compatible. If other than NEC single-line telephone sets are used with this system, ensure that they are hearing aid compatible.
